Consilium will assist in STEP (State Trade & Export Promotion) grant identification process and seamlessly supports execution of grant funded programs as part of broader diversified international sales effort
IPSWICH, MA, November 28, 2011
Consilium Global Business Advisors announces the integration of grant identification and preparation assistance into its innovative, vertically integrated suite of services which assist SMEs in international business development.
The SBA’s announcement on Sept 27, 2011 regarding funding under its STEP initiative provides funds to 47 of 50 states to be used to support SME export activities. It represents the latest in a series of exciting programs which are being codified under the National Export Initiative.
“This deliberate move by the SBA complements many of the programs that are available under the Department of Commerce to support SME efforts at international market diversification.” comments Ed Marsh, Principal of Consilium Global Business advisors and international business veteran. “But as the NEI says, ‘The Federal Government along cannot succeed in this initiative; U.S. companies will ultimately be responsible for shipping goods and selling services internationally.’ Companies need baseline export proficiency. Additionally coordinating and leveraging available government programs requires a deep institutional familiarity which many SMEs lack. Consilium offers experienced advisory services, and we are uniquely positioned to advise companies on how to leverage these new programs.”
Santiago Lopez, Consilium Principal and Latin American markets expert continues “The US government has done a great job designing the building blocks and putting them in place. There are vibrant, growing markets that are stable and that value ‘Made in America’ products. These markets represent great opportunities for companies seeking to expand their presence. SMEs often simply need help coordinating efforts and assets in overseas markets and often some help with their domestic ‘export infrastructure.’ ”
Consilium’s model assists companies in developing and refining their export efforts. Consilium’s vertically integrated, multi-discipline suite of services are seamlessly applied from strategic conception through tactical execution.
